UV protected greenery is treated to slow fading in sunlight, which is a different thing from simply being sold as outdoor stock. Standard artificial foliage put into direct sun will lose its colour within a season and go brittle at the stems, and the failure is gradual enough that it usually gets noticed after a client has paid for the install. UV lines are the right specification for shopfronts, window boxes, balconies, terraces and any south facing interior with strong glazing.
